British Zimbabwean Ndodana Tshuma is awaiting a second hearing next week for the alleged murder of his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire, south-east England.
He fled to South Africa (SA) and now the United Kingdom (UK) is looking to SA authorities to extradite him back to face justice.
Tshuma made a brief appearance in Johannesburg Court, Gauteng Province, earlier in the week, and will come before a judge once again next Wednesday.
The UK Crown Prosecution Service earlier confirmed that it is working with agencies in the UK and in SA to help progress the extradition process.
Prosecutors have asked that there is no reporting or sharing of information online which could prejudice proceedings in SA or any future prosecution in England.
But it has confirmed the body of his wife, known by friends as Zandile, along with his children 15-year-old Natalie, and 5-year-old Nala were found at the family home last week.
Their cause of death has been described by officials as “blunt force trauma”.
