More than 2 000 African and global business executives, investors, and Heads of State are set to gather in New York this month for Unstoppable Africa 2026, the flagship summit of the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI).
Co-convened by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres and African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the event aims to reshape global economic perceptions of Africa by turning strategic discussions into concrete trade, investment, and cross-border commercial partnerships.
Detailing the focus of this year’s gathering, Chigozirim Bodart, Chief of Staff at the UN Global Compact, confirmed that attendance will feature prominent Heads of State, including ongoing discussions with the President of Botswana, alongside ministerial delegations from Rwanda and senior corporate leaders, such as executives from Anglo American South Africa (SA) and Naspers SA Chief Executive Phuti Mahanyele-Dabengwa.
