The United Nations (UN) World Conference Against Racism, held in Durban, South Africa (SA), in 2001, is marking its 25th anniversary.
The conference brought governments and civil society groups together to address racism and racial discrimination.
But the United States has criticised the event.
Its Ambassador to the UN for Management and Reform, Jeff Bartos, has called it an “utter failure”.
He accused the conference of promoting antisemitism and what he described as anti-capitalist, anti-Western and anti-American views.
