The United Nations (UN) Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the South African (SA) National AIDS Council and the Global Health Innovations Institute have facilitated a five-day exchange programme involving the government of China, Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturers and regional partners.
The engagement aims to strengthen collaboration, promote knowledge-sharing and explore opportunities to improve access to HIV and other essential health products across the region.
The collaboration is to explore how Africa’s manufacturing capacity can be strengthened and connected to technology, investment, predictable markets and regional procurement.
The exchange took place in various parts of SA.
