The United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) members will on Monday debate the United States’ (US) invasion of Venezuela.
This led to the capture of President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro.
The meeting of the UNSC coincides with the appearance of Maduro in a Federal Court in New York.
The debate will focus on US military action against Venezuela.
Many countries have condemned the attack and some raised concerns that the invasion of Venezuela is in violation of the UN charter articles one and two .
The charter calls for respect for territorial integrity of member states and it also for respect for sovereignty and independence of member countries.
The UN Chief Antonio Guterres has also raised concerns and has called for de-escalation.
