The United States (US) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties with the Republic of the Congo as the Central African nation marks its 66th anniversary of independence.
In an official statement released by the Department of State this Saturday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended congratulations to the government and citizens of the Republic of the Congo on behalf of the American people.
The diplomatic message highlighted the long-standing historic partnership between Washington and Brazzaville, which formally began when the US recognised Congolese independence in August 1960.
Looking ahead, the US government emphasised its intention to expand bilateral cooperation across commercial sectors and regional security initiatives aimed at boosting trade and economic stability in the region.
