The United States (US) has imposed sanctions on Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
This includes several other individuals and entities linked to the Cuban government, according to the US Treasury Department.
Those targeted also include members of the Castro family, Díaz-Canel’s wife Lis Cuesta Peraza, and Cuba’s Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

It is the latest move by the US President Donald Trump administration as it works to incapacitate the Cuban economy and force changes, including possible regime change.
