United States (US) has increased pressure on Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to take action to reduce the ongoing conflict in eastern DRC and to implement previously agreed peace accords.

Abedi Jean dela Croix spoke to Jules Mulumba, Spokesperson for the North Kivu Patriots group, who is currently based in Kinshasa, DRC. Responding to the announcement, Mulumba offered his perspective, emphasising the importance of implementing the agreements and taking diplomatic measures to strengthen peace in the region.

He added that local groups have a responsibility to cooperate with the government and the international community to ensure the conflict de-escalates and lasting peace is achieved.
