The Zambian government has rejected claims that President Hakainde Hichilema ordered the closure of the courts to prevent the opposition from challenging the election results.
Hichilema has secured a second term in office after winning the closely contested election.
The opposition has accused him of restricting its ability to campaign and suppressing political protests.
Its leader, Brian Mundubile, has reportedly said he will challenge the results in court, alleging electoral fraud.
