Zimbabwe assures public after no Ebola cases reported

This after the outbreak of Ebola in the DRC and Uganda in the past weeks. 

The department of health ministry in Zimbabwe has assured the public in that country that no Ebola cases have been reported. It says the country remains on high alert and prepared to deal with any infection that might be detected.

Zimbabwean Health Minister Douglas Mombeshora says currently there is no vaccine for Ebola treatment.

“Given the high volume of human movement within the Southern African Development Community region, Zimbabwe remains on high alert. The ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda caused by Ebola virus has recorded more than one thousand and 234 deaths as of May 29, 2026.”
