Authorities in Zimbabwe have introduced a ban on second-hand clothing, a move that has sparked concern as many citizens continue to struggle with rising poverty.
The government says the measure is aimed at supporting local textile industries and regulating the market. However, critics argue it could hit low-income households hardest, as many rely on affordable second-hand garments for daily use.
Speaking on the development, John Kassim said the policy comes at a difficult time for ordinary Zimbabweans.
“This decision affects people who already have very limited options. For many families, second-hand clothing is not a choice, but a necessity,” he said.
