The death toll from the Lake Kariba ferry disaster in Zimbabwe has risen to 92 after search and rescue teams recovered additional bodies this Monday, August 17.
To bolster recovery efforts following the August 11 capsize, the Commissioner-General of Police deployed a task force comprising two large vessels, two small boats, and over 40 members of the police Sub-Aqua Unit.
Working alongside the lake captain, maritime authorities, and other government agencies, emergency personnel are co-ordinating efforts on the water to recover missing victims and ensure the identification and release of bodies are handled swiftly and professionally.
