The lawyer representing one of the suspects in the shooting incident at the home of former Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe’s son in Hyde Park, Johannesburg in South Africa says they are closely monitoring the police investigation.
She was speaking to the media outside the property where police are continuing their search for the firearm used in the alleged shooting of a 23-year-old employee, who is in a critical condition in hospital.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing a charge of attempted murder.
The lawyer Sinenhlanhla Mnguni says she cannot speak about the circumstances surrounding the matter due to its sensitivity.
Mnguni says, “at this stage, I am not at liberty to disclose anything. We want the process to unfold. There is still a lot that needs to be investigated, and we want the police to proceed so that we can move forward with the matter and take whatever necessary steps to enforce our client’s rights.
You will understand that this is a sensitive matter, so we cannot speak about the events or circumstances surrounding what happened.”
