The Secretary General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe, has briefed Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and permanent representatives on preparations for the upcoming 25th COMESA Summit, which will be hosted in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare, from October 19 to 22, 2026.
Running under the theme “One Market, One Future: Advancing Inclusive Industrialisation, Investment and Regional Integration in COMESA,” the gathering will feature a series of pre-Summit events, including the Green Industry Connect, a multi-sectoral international exhibition, the 19th COMESA Business Forum, and the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
The main Heads of State and Government Summit on October 22 is expected to review regional integration progress, consider ministerial recommendations, and launch the new COMESA Medium-Term Strategic Plan for 2026–2030, charting the bloc’s development priorities for the next five years.
