Zimbabwean opposition politician and National Democratic Working Group leader Job Sikhala is scheduled to hold a press conference in South Africa’s Johannesburg, on Wednesday afternoon.
The media conference is to address what he describes as a deepening constitutional crisis in Zimbabwe.
The briefing comes in response to the ruling Zanu-PF party’s push to amend the Constitution, a move that would allow President Emmerson Mnangagwa to extend his stay in power until 2030, beyond his current term limits.
The proposed changes, endorsed by Zanu-PF parliamentary majority members last year, have sparked significant opposition from political activists and civil society groups across the country.
