World Children\u2019s Day in Gabon came with a touch of glitz this year, thanks to Eudoxie Bridges, the elegant, Gabon-born philanthropist best known as the wife of Grammy-winning superstar Ludacris.<\/p>\n

Bridges stepped into the spotlight as United Nations International Children\u2019s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Gabon\u2019s newest Ambassador, and the event instantly felt like a celebration with purpose and personality.<\/p>\n

Hosted by UNICEF Gabon and Gabon 1\u00e8re alongside the Ministry of Women, Family and Child Protection, the day turned into a colourful tribute to the country\u2019s young people. The crowd included top government officials, but it was Bridges\u2019 warm energy and effortless charm that stole the show.<\/p>\n

Known for her advocacy work, fashion sense and global influence, she brought real excitement to the children who gathered for the festivities. Her appointment is being celebrated not just as a win for children\u2019s rights, but as a proud moment for Gabonese people everywhere, from Libreville to Hollywood.<\/p>\n

UNICEF Representative Dr Marie-Reine Chirezi Fabry couldn\u2019t hide her delight, saying Bridges\u2019 voice and visibility will help \u201cencourage young people to speak up and defend their rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adding to the buzz, Gabon 1\u00e8re launched its brand-new youth programme My Voice \u2013 My Rights, a vibrant platform where kids can share their dreams, frustrations and bold ideas for the future. A lively debate featuring young Gabonese speakers revealed just how passionately they want to shape the world around them.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s celebration also coincided with Gabon joining the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, a major milestone for the country. With Bridges now lending her star appeal to UNICEF\u2019s mission, hopes are high that even more people will take notice of the challenges facing children and the solutions already underway.<\/p>\n
