This so-called “shadow tax” can take up around 15 hours a month, nearly two working days.

As Penelope Meniere, National Marketing Manager at Workshop17 notes, this growing burden is not what leadership was meant to look like, with many executives stretched by tasks “that have absolutely nothing to do with the reason they were hired”.

Rather than rejecting leadership, younger professionals, particularly Gen Z, are increasingly opting out of traditional management tracks that combine people leadership with administrative responsibilities. Many are choosing roles that allow them to focus on their expertise without the added pressure of running workplace operations.

Companies are beginning to respond by creating environments where leaders can concentrate on their core roles. This includes the rise of fully serviced office spaces, where operational tasks such as maintenance, security and logistics are handled externally.

–ChannelAfrica–

[318,317
post-33812","lifestyle-ent","type-lifestyle-ent","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","featured-post-genz","featured-post-work","entry
["GET
