BMA Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato assessed readiness at the biggest land port, the Beitbridge Border Post, between Zimbabwe and SA on Thursday ahead of the end of the festive season.<\/p>\n
The border post is a critical gateway linking SA with the Southern African Development Community region.<\/p>\n
Authorities launched a crime-fighting campaign yesterday to address pressing challenges.<\/p>\n
Dr Masiapato says they expect to see an increase in vehicles and people towards the end of the weekend.<\/p>\n
With its high volume of travellers and goods, the border post also serves as a hotspot for illicit activities, including the smuggling of contraband.<\/p>\n
