Pearl Maphoshe, CSA\u2019s board Chairperson, said the focus is on setting a new standard for future ICC events. \u201cCreating a lasting legacy is very important for us, in SA and across the continent,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The 2027 tournament will see SA as the main host, with Zimbabwe and Namibia taking on supporting roles. This differs from the 2003 World Cup, when Kenya and Zimbabwe assisted SA in co-hosting the event.<\/p>\n
Maphoshe added that organisers are determined to ensure the World Cup delivers more than just matches, aiming to boost cricket infrastructure, nurture talent, and engage fans across the region.<\/p>\n
