Speaking on the opening day of the 5th annual African Energy Week 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Moagi warned against complacency, citing South Africa\u2019s electricity struggles as a lesson for the broader continent.<\/p>\n
\u201cSA went through a difficult time with electricity, and what we cannot afford is actually going into fuel shedding. We need to avoid it. Africa and SA are energy-hungry. We\u2019ve got big opportunities coming our way, and we cannot lose that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Moagi argued that Africa offers attractive investment potential, pointing to a diversified economy, progressive markets, and emerging growth sectors. He emphasised that unlocking Africa\u2019s energy future will require collaboration between governments, private sector players, and international partners to ensure long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n
The four-day conference brings together policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to shape solutions for Africa\u2019s energy transition while ensuring energy security for its growing population.<\/p>\n
