KwaZulu-Natal province Premier Thami Ntuli has paid tribute to South Africa\u2019s (SA) late Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, describing him as a unifying figure who played a vital role in fostering peace and political co-operation in the province.<\/p>\n
Speaking at Mthethwa\u2019s funeral service in KwaMbonambi, Ntuli reflected on the ambassador\u2019s lasting legacy, noting his contribution to reconciliation between rival political parties in KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it comes to peace in the province, uNyambose played a massive yet quiet role in ensuring stability,\u201d Ntuli said. \u201cWe are beneficiaries of that peace today, as seen in the co-operation between the Inkatha Freedom Party and African National Congress (ANC) within the provincial government and even at national level.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi had long championed reconciliation between the two parties, a vision that Mthethwa helped advance.<\/p>\n
Mthethwa, a former cabinet Minister and senior ANC leader, passed away last week. His funeral has drawn tributes from across the political spectrum, honouring his decades-long service to the country and his commitment to unity and peace.<\/p>\n
