{"id":15230,"date":"2025-11-14T05:30:54","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T03:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jhb-webdevelopers\/channelafrica\/news\/ghana-poised-for-sustained-growth-as-confidence-returns-minister\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T16:27:32","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T14:27:32","slug":"ghana-poised-for-sustained-growth-as-confidence-returns-minister","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/ghana-poised-for-sustained-growth-as-confidence-returns-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana poised for sustained growth as confidence returns: Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana&#8217;s economy has rebounded from its worst crisis in a generation and is poised for sustained growth in 2026 as investor confidence returns, Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson said on Thursday during a budget presentation to parliament.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Forson said that fiscal reforms and prudent policies have enabled the country to turn the corner, projecting real gross domestic product (GDP) growth of at least 4.8% in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The government also aims for a fiscal deficit of 4.0% of GDP on a cash basis and a primary balance of around 1.5% of GDP from 2026 onward.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have restored fiscal discipline, brought inflation under control, stabilized the Cedi currency, and rekindled investor confidence,&#8221; Forson said, adding that inflation is expected to stay within the target band of 8% with a margin of error of 2 percentage points either side.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To our international partners and investors, Ghana is back, strong, credible, and open for business. The story of Ghana is no longer one of crisis but of recovery and renewal,&#8221; Forson said. He added that Ghana was planning to return to the domestic debt market in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ghana&#8217;s consumer inflation has fallen sharply from a record 54% in January 2023.
