The South African Nigeria Business Chamber (SANBC) celebrated its 20th anniversary recently, reflecting on two decades of fostering trade and investment links between SA and Nigeria.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At a special cocktail forum, the chamber\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Diana Games, said the organisation has been vital in helping companies from both countries expand into new markets.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cOur greatest achievement has been creating a professional space where South Africans, Nigerians, and other Africans can meet, exchange insights, and build meaningful networks,\u201d Games said.<\/p>\n

The event brought together government representatives, including the Nigerian High Commission and SA\u2019s Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, alongside corporate leaders from Standard Bank, Access Bank, and members of the chamber\u2019s board.<\/p>\n

Tamsin Freemantle, SANBC President, pointed out that the chamber\u2019s strength lies in linking government and business, providing a platform where collaboration can thrive and the business environment can be improved for all participants.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Looking to the future, the chamber is focusing on sectors with strong growth potential. Suresh Chaytoo, Senior Corporate Investment Banker at Rand Merchant Bank, identified technology, digitisation, infrastructure, and healthcare as key areas for cross-border investment.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cNot only financial services, but healthcare, education, and infrastructure will need substantial investment in technology. Opportunities in medical tourism and infrastructure development are opening new doors for collaboration,\u201d Chaytoo said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The chamber said the next decade will be critical for deepening SA\u2013Nigeria economic partnerships and driving broader growth across the continent.<\/p>\n
