{"id":16019,"date":"2025-11-24T14:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T12:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jhb-webdevelopers\/channelafrica\/news\/jansen-hurts-india-again-sa-sense-victory\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T16:31:21","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T14:31:21","slug":"jansen-hurts-india-again-sa-sense-victory","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/jansen-hurts-india-again-sa-sense-victory\/","title":{"rendered":"Jansen hurts India again, SA sense victory"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Marco Jansen continued to torment India in the second and final test in Guwahati as the lanky quick claimed 6-48 to help South Africa (SA) grab a potentially decisive first-innings lead of 288 on day three this Monday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A day after smashing a career-best 93 in SA&#8217;s first-innings total of 489, Jansen helped dismantle India for 201 at the first ever test at Barsapara Cricket Stadium.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Aiden Markram produced a catching masterclass with five of them, including a one-handed stunner to remove Nitish Kumar Reddy.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>SA, pushing for a 2-0 series sweep, did not enforce the follow-on and finished the day on 26 for no loss and an overall lead of 314.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Ryan Rickelton (13) and Markram (12) will return on Tuesday hoping to bat India out of the match.<\/div>\n<div>&#8220;There&#8217;s obviously nice pace and bounce in the wicket,&#8221; Jansen said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Not a lot of nip or swing, a little bit here at the end. Once we saw there was a bit of bounce and better pace in the wicket, we tried to utilise that.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Obviously, a good day for the chaps and for myself in particular.
