{"id":16293,"date":"2025-11-27T15:02:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T13:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jhb-webdevelopers\/channelafrica\/news\/springboks-expect-never-say-die-attitude-from-wales\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T16:31:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T14:31:30","slug":"springboks-expect-never-say-die-attitude-from-wales","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/springboks-expect-never-say-die-attitude-from-wales\/","title":{"rendered":"Springboks expect never say die attitude from Wales"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">South Africa expect Wales to fight to the bitter end no matter what the match situation is, when the two teams clash in the Sprigboks\u2019 challenge of 2025 in Cardiff.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Springbok and Lions scrumhalf, Morne van den Berg says his experience of the Welsh teams in the United Rugby Championship (URC) is that they never give up, even in a lost cause.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">The Springboks lost a few players due to club commitments but those that are available should still be strong enough to beat Wales.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">The home side also will have to do without at least 13 players, which make the Springboks even bigger favourites.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Van den Berg says no matter who plays for Wales, they will breath fire.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\u201cSuch tough tough men, competitive, not afraid of anything, willing to fight to chase lost causes. My experience in the URC is guys that are willing to fight for each other and I think it will be similar because it\u2019s mostly URC players.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Springbok hooker Johan Grobbelaar says the squad system that\u2019s been in place with the Springboks makes it less challenging when players are not available.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\u201cWhat helped us is the last couple of weeks training together, we were mixing in and out, changing staff so we got to know the guys even the younger guys that I haven\u2019t played with a lot.
