It then handed its mining assets over to Nimba Mining.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A supply deal could potentially avert the legal action EGA has threatened over the seizure, the sources, who include a government official, said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;Discussions are going well, and it is to avoid litigation,&#8221; the government source said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">of the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> sources <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">asked not to be named<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> due to the sensitive nature of the discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Nimba Mining told <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Reuters<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> it was not part of the talks and had no information. Guinea&#8217;s mines ministry did not respond immediately to a request for comment, while EGA declined to comment. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">EGA, equally owned by Abu Dhabi&#8217;s Mubadala and Dubai&#8217;s Investment Corporation, is the world&#8217;s largest premium aluminium <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">producer<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The company invested more than $1 billion in GAC, which exported 14 million metric tons annually at its peak before the cancellation of its licence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">EGA&#8217;s United Arab Emirates refinery is engineered for GAC&#8217;s ore, one of the sources said.
