A complaint has been filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Chadian President Mahamat Idriss D\u00e9by and several of his close associates by a Sudanese civil society organisation, alleging involvement in the Sudan conflict.<\/p>\n

In its submission, the non-governmental organisation Priority Peace Sudan accuses the Chadian authorities of playing a key role in the reception, facilitation and transfer of military equipment allegedly supplied by the United Arab Emirates to Sudan. The equipment is said to have been channelled to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.<\/p>\n

The organisation argues that these actions could amount to complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity, given the widespread abuses attributed to the RSF during the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the matter, Chadian civil society activist Christophe Kagne said the complaint reflects growing concern over Chad\u2019s alleged involvement. \u201cThis filing sends a strong signal that regional leaders cannot remain shielded from accountability when conflicts spill across borders,\u201d he said. \u201cIf these allegations are proven, they raise serious questions about Chad\u2019s role in prolonging the suffering of civilians in Sudan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kagne added that the case could have wider regional implications. \u201cWhat happens in Sudan does not stop at its borders. Stability in Chad and the wider Sahel depends on transparency and respect for international law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The ICC has not yet commented on the complaint.<\/p>\n
