{"id":23224,"date":"2026-02-03T06:00:25","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T04:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jhb-webdevelopers\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-presidents-name-surfaces-at-ad-hoc-committee\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T16:34:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T14:34:03","slug":"sa-presidents-name-surfaces-at-ad-hoc-committee","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-presidents-name-surfaces-at-ad-hoc-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"SA President\u2019s name surfaces at Ad Hoc Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">South Africa&#8217;s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa\u2019s name has now entered the fray in Parliament\u2019s Ad Hoc Committee, investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">It\u2019s raising the possibility that the head of state could be called to account before lawmakers on the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Committee chair Soviet Lekganyane says Ramaphosa\u2019s name, along with senior police generals, will be referred to Parliament\u2019s legal team for assessment. This could ultimately determine whether Ramaphosa is asked to appear before the committee or respond in writing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cThese three names; General Khan, General Moodley, and the name of the president, will be forwarded to the legal team for assessment.
