Britain joined the gold rush at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games with wins in the skeleton mixed team event and the mixed team snow board cross.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There were also headline gold medal wins for Dutch speed skater, Femke Kok, and Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem in ski jumping.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Norway continues to lead on the medals table ahead of Italy and the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Britain became the first Olympic champions in the skeleton mixed team event as individual champion Matt Weston and Tabitha Stoecker set a track record with their final run.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Germans Axel Jungk and Susanne Kreher edged out compatriots Christopher Grotheer and Jacqueline Pfeifer for another silver.<\/span><\/p>\n

Britain also took gold in the mixed team snowboard cross courtesy of Charlotte\u00a0Bankes\u00a0and\u00a0Huw\u00a0Nightingale, after the pair bounced back from disappointment in their individual races.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the women’s ski jumping large hill individual, Norway’s Anna\u00a0Odine\u00a0Stroem\u00a0won her second gold, while compatriot\u00a0Eirin\u00a0Maria\u00a0Kvandal\u00a0took silver following a dominant performance by the Scandinavian country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speed Skating World record holder\u00a0Femke\u00a0Kok\u00a0asserted her dominance over 500 meters to win gold and give the Netherlands their first women’s title in the distance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kok had finished second behind Jutta Leerdam in the 1000 metres on Monday, but swapped places with her compatriot on the podium in the 500 metres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi put on a superb display of shooting to hit all 20 targets and win gold in a thrilling women’s 10 kilometres biathlon pursuit race.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The gold medal was Italy’s first in the sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

And there was more gold for Italy’s Federica Brignone, who completed a golden double on home snow, adding the giant slalom title to the Super-G won last Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile in the women’s snowboard\u00a0slopestyle\u00a0qualifications, New Zealand’s\u00a0Zoi\u00a0Sydowski-Synnott\u00a0qualified in top spot with a best score of 88 point Zero Eight..<\/span><\/p>\n

Elsewhere at the Santagiulia Arena, Canada walloped France 10-2 as they chased the top seeding from the preliminary stage of the men’s Olympic ice hockey<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
