The 20th edition of Meetings Africa gets underway today at the\u00a0Sandton Convention Centre, Gauteng Province, South Africa (SA) bringing together business events stakeholders from across the continent and beyond.<\/p>\n
The annual event aims to position Africa as a competitive global destination for business tourism, by creating a platform that connects African exhibitors with international buyers, investors and decision makers in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector.<\/p>\n
This year’s programme features a two day trade show, preceded by a dedicated Business Opportunity Networking Day, known as BONDay, which focuses on knowledge sharing, skills development and industry collaboration.<\/p>\n
The educational programme is hosted in partnership with leading global, continental and national industry associations.<\/p>\n
General Manager of the\u00a0Sandton Convention Centre,\u00a0Shaun Bird, says the event comes at a critical time, as the tourism and business events industry continues to recover and gain momentum following the disruptions caused by the COVID\u201119 pandemic.<\/p>\n
