{"id":28210,"date":"2026-03-10T07:57:39","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T05:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=28210"},"modified":"2026-03-10T07:58:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T05:58:04","slug":"motor-industry-staff-association-expresses-concern-over-motor-vehicle-recalls","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/motor-industry-staff-association-expresses-concern-over-motor-vehicle-recalls\/","title":{"rendered":"Motor Industry Staff Association expresses concern over motor vehicle recalls"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) has expressed concern over the latest motor vehicle recalls, saying that the frequent incidents are deeply concerning.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"ms-outlook-mobile-signature\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div>This follows Volkswagen (VW) South Africa\u2019s recall of over 25 700 VW Polo vehicles sold between February 2025 and February this year, to correct handbrake fittings.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Last year, VW recalled more than 250 Polo Sedan vehicles due to an incorrectly fitted seat belt on the driver\u2019s side.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div>MISA Spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says, \u201cMISA is deeply concerned about the sharp increase in vehicle recalls in recent years. While we understand the complex factors driving these recalls, we cannot ignore the impact they have on consumer confidence, and importantly on the credibility of dealerships and sales executives.
