{"id":29052,"date":"2026-03-18T09:36:26","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T07:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=29052"},"modified":"2026-03-18T09:36:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T07:36:26","slug":"palestine-solidarity-campaign-pushes-sa-to-challenge-israels-military-actions-in-gaza","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/palestine-solidarity-campaign-pushes-sa-to-challenge-israels-military-actions-in-gaza\/","title":{"rendered":"Palestine Solidarity Campaign\u00a0pushes SA to challenge Israel\u2019s military actions in Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has called on South Africa (SA) to use its leadership to push for greater international support and measures to challenge Israel\u2019s continued military actions in Gaza.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>PSC responded to the latest developments in SA\u2019s case against Israel under the Genocide Convention, before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at the Hague.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Israel filed its counter memorial last week at the ICJ, challenging SA&#8217;s request to the court to rule that the military action of Israel\u2019s Defence Force in Gaza amounts to genocide.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>PSC\u2019s Usuf Chitke says, \u201cApartheid Israel remains in contempt of the court, ignoring its provisional measures while continuing mass killings, starvation and forced displacement. This genocide in Gaza is enabled by the United States and its allies, who arm, fund, and shield Israel from accountability. The time for appeasement and impunity is over.
