The RSF and allied fighters are reportedly attempting to capture the strategic town of Kurmuk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fighting has escalated as both sides vie for control of the area, with reports indicating the use of combat vehicles and some fighters moving on foot with weapons. Over the past week, the town of Jurut, south of Kurmuk, has seen intermittent shifts in control between the two forces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sudanese officials have accused Ethiopia of supporting the RSF in the region.
