{"id":30115,"date":"2026-03-27T09:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T07:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=30115"},"modified":"2026-03-27T09:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T07:48:10","slug":"30115","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/30115\/","title":{"rendered":"Untitled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_p2\">Oil prices were on track for a weekly decline on Friday after United States (IS) President Donald Trump extended a \u200cpause in attacks on Iran&#8217;s energy plants for 10 days, though investors remained on edge as an imminent resolution to the conflict looked unlikely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">On Friday, the benchmarks were little changed after a bullish previous session.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">Brent futures fell 4 cents to $107.97 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures were down 40 cents at $94.08 per barrel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">WTI\u00a0\u2060futures, which have jumped 40% since the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, fell 4.6% this week, while Brent, up more than 48% since the war began, was down 4% for the week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">&#8220;Despite talks of de-escalation, oil is trading on war longevity, not just headlines.
