{"id":31339,"date":"2026-04-10T15:20:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T13:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=31339"},"modified":"2026-04-10T15:20:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T13:20:08","slug":"sa-energy-ministry-commits-to-secure-electricity-supply","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-energy-ministry-commits-to-secure-electricity-supply\/","title":{"rendered":"SA Energy Ministry commits to secure electricity supply"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">South Africa&#8217;s (SA) Electricity and Energy Minister, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says President Cyril Ramaphosa can rely on his department to ensure energy stability and keep SA&#8217;s electricity supply secure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">He says sustained electricity availability is critical to improving capacity utilisation across the economy, supporting households and strengthening food security by enabling more families to access regular meals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Ramokgopa also emphasised that reliable power is vital for the health sector, stressing that medical professionals should never have to worry about electricity interruptions during critical procedures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">He was speaking while accompanying Ramaphosa during an inspection of the Kusile Power Station in Mpumalanga.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cI would like to say this in front of 42 000 plus guidance, that as a result of the efforts that we have made, those companies are going to create jobs. It means that we are reducing the unemployment rate.
