South Africa\u2019s (SA) Magistrate’s Court at kuGompo City in the Eastern Cape Province has sentenced opposition leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema to a total of five years imprisonment in his firearm case.<\/div>\n

It relates to an incident in which he discharged a firearm during the EFF’s fifth anniversary celebrations in Mdantsane in 2018.<\/div>\n

The charges ranges from unlawful possession of a firearm, five years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/div>\n

Unlawful possession of ammunition two years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Discharging a firearm in a built-up area and public space, fined $1 220 (R20 000) or six months imprisonment<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Reckless endangerment of people or property fined $1 220 (R20 000) or six months imprisonment.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Failure to take reasonable precautions to avoid danger to person or property, Malema and his former security guide Adriaan Snyman fined $1 220 (R20 000) or six months imprisonment.<\/div>\n
