{"id":32598,"date":"2026-04-21T09:48:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T07:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=32598"},"modified":"2026-04-21T09:48:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T07:48:05","slug":"former-botswana-president-recovering-well-at-home","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/former-botswana-president-recovering-well-at-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Botswana President recovering well at home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_p2\">The office of former President of Botswana Festus Mogae says he is recuperating well at home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">Mogae was admitted to hospital in Gaborone two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">The 86-year-old Mogae is the third President of the landlocked country and took over from Sir Ketumile Masire from 1998 to 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p2\">The Senior Private Secretary in the office of Mogae, Rhee Hetanang elaborates: \u201cHe is very stable and remaining at home, under very specialised care and he&#8217;s okay.
