It is May 2026, and the debate over the movement of people across South Africa’s (SA)\u00a0borders has reached high discussion.<\/div>\n

In last week alone, SA has seen thousands take to the streets in Gauteng Province, and beyond, demanding urgent state action on undocumented migration, a crisis that many feels have been allowed to fester for too long.<\/div>\n

\u00a0In a new press release titled “SA’s immigration crisis is not merely a national issue,” civil society movement #NotInMyName International argues that SA is facing a continental failure that requires more than just domestic policing.<\/div>\n

The organisation is calling for a radical rethink of how we engage with neighbouring countries and the international community the solve.<\/div>\n
