The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) says adverse weather conditions have impacted flight operations at Cape Town International and George Airports.<\/p>\n
ACSA says flights may be delayed, diverted and cancelled due to gale force winds and heavy downpours.<\/p>\n
ACSA Spokesperson, Ofentse Dijoe, says both airports will, however, remain operational.<\/p>\n
\u201cAirport operations continue to be closely monitored, and alternative airports are accommodating diverted flights where required. Passengers are encouraged to consult the ACSA Mobile App or their respective airlines for the latest flight information.\u201d<\/p>\n
Humanitarian aid organisation Gift of the Givers says it is assisting about 6 000 Cape Town residents affected by the storm.<\/p>\n
A second cold front in the last few days has made landfall with gale-force winds and heavy rain.<\/p>\n
Gift of the Givers Project Manager, Ali Sablay says, \u201cOur teams have been on the ground from 6 am this morning, doing assessments. We are currently here at Lwandle hostels, you can see the devastation is not only to informal structures but to a block of flats, the roof has been blown off.\u201d<\/p>\n
