{"id":34834,"date":"2026-05-19T10:12:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T08:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=34834"},"modified":"2026-05-19T10:14:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T08:14:06","slug":"sa-padel-star-targets-strong-showing-at-premier-padel-tour-debut","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-padel-star-targets-strong-showing-at-premier-padel-tour-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"SA padel star targets strong showing at Premier Padel tour debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African (SA) professional padel player Adam van Harte says he is excited to compete against some of the world\u2019s top players when the Premier Padel tour makes its debut in Pretoria in July.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old, who previously represented SA as a junior tennis player, is part of a growing number of athletes switching from tennis to padel, one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing sports.<\/p>\n<p>Van Harte, currently ranked among SA\u2019s top padel players, will compete at the Premier Padel Pretoria P1 event at the SunBet Arena.<\/p>\n<p>He says he is expecting strong support from local fans as the sport continues to grow rapidly in SA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we can expect is a lot of support from spectators. The sport is becoming very popular and SA is really driving the sport. I think the support will be immense.
