Ludovic Ngats\u00e9, Minister of Economy, Planning, Statistics and Forecasting, briefed the Bank\u2019s Executive Directors in Abidjan on May 15, confirming that the country is ready to host the event scheduled for May 25 to May 29.<\/p>\n

Ngats\u00e9, who also serves as Chairperson of the Boards of Governors of the African Development Bank Group, said preparations are progressing without major challenges. Ngats\u00e9 said the country has reached an advanced stage and will be fully ready within the required timelines.<\/p>\n

The meetings will take place at the Kint\u00e9l\u00e9 International Conference Centre and are expected to attract over 3 000 participants, including Heads of State, ministers, central bank governors, private sector leaders and international partners.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ngats\u00e9 outlined progress across key areas such as logistics, security and programme coordination. Ngats\u00e9 said about 88% of preparations assigned to the host country have been completed, with funding for service providers already 80% disbursed. The accreditation hall has also been handed over to the Bank.<\/p>\n

To manage the process, the government established three structures, including a high-level national committee chaired by Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso, a national organising committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Jean Jacques Bouya and a coordinating office headed by Ngats\u00e9. Fourteen subcommittees are supporting specific aspects of the preparations.<\/p>\n

The meetings will be held under the theme \u201cMobilising large-scale resources for Africa\u2019s development financing in a fragmented world\u201d.<\/p>\n

Congo will also host a knowledge event focused on sustainable energy and transport infrastructure to promote African integration.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ngats\u00e9 said the event will provide an opportunity to showcase the country\u2019s economic potential in sectors such as mining, tourism and special economic zones. Ngats\u00e9 linked the initiative to the Congo Vision 2063 strategy, which aims to reduce reliance on oil by lowering its contribution to gross domestic product from 45% to between 15% and 20%.<\/p>\n

Sidi Ould Tah, President of the AfDB Group, commended Congo\u2019s commitment to hosting the meetings, while Samson Oyebode Oyetunde, Dean of the Board of Directors, praised the progress made on logistical arrangements.<\/p>\n
