{"id":34919,"date":"2026-05-20T09:36:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=34919"},"modified":"2026-05-20T09:36:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:36:13","slug":"mining-indaba-2027-theme-focuses-on-partnerships-value-addition","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/mining-indaba-2027-theme-focuses-on-partnerships-value-addition\/","title":{"rendered":"Mining Indaba 2027 theme focuses on partnerships, value addition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa\u2019s mining sector is facing growing pressure to deliver greater economic benefits beyond raw mineral exports as industry leaders push for stronger partnerships and local industrial development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mining Indaba 2027 has unveiled its official theme, \u201cStronger Together, Partnerships in Practice,\u201d highlighting the need for closer cooperation between governments, investors and mining companies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Industry Director Investing in African Mining Indaba, Laura Nicholson said the theme reflects the industry\u2019s need to break away from fragmented approaches and focus on practical collaboration to address long-standing challenges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe industry works in silos a lot, and this is holding the industry back.
