South Africa’s (SA) Parliament Speaker, Thoko Didiza, says lawmakers must be more rigorous in drafting legislation, after the country’s highest court ruled that parts of Parliament’s impeachment process are unconstitutional.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a debate on Parliament’s budget for the coming financial year, Didiza said the judgment highlighted the need for stronger oversight and law-making procedures.<\/p>\n

The Constitutional Court has ordered Parliament to establish a committee to consider the possible removal of President Cyril Ramaphosa.<\/p>\n

The ruling dominated debate in the National Assembly, with several parties questioning its political and constitutional implications.<\/p>\n
