color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">The Rand traded at 16.2150 against the Dollar, \u200babout 0.6% stronger than its previous close.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">Prices \u200bof gold and platinum, major SA \u2060exports, rose on Tuesday supported mainly by \u200blower Treasury yields.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">The US Dollar was little changed against \u200ba basket of currencies as investors remained on edge, treating news of any progress toward ending the Iran conflict \u200bwith caution, given the fragility of a US and Iran \u200bceasefire struck in early April.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">Lebanon on Monday announced a partial ceasefire \u200cbetween \u2060Hezbollah and Israel, in what would amount to a limited de-escalation of a conflict that has killed thousands of people and inflamed the broader \u200bwar with Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">&#8220;The \u200brand is \u2060likely to remain highly sensitive to shifts in global risk appetite and \u200bdevelopments in energy markets,&#8221; said Wichard \u200bCilliers, \u2060head of market risk at TreasuryONE.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">On the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the Top-40 index was up 2.3%, thanks\u00a0\u2060to\u00a0\u200bmining stocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background);
