{"id":38228,"date":"2026-06-28T08:09:42","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T06:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=38228"},"modified":"2026-06-28T08:09:42","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T06:09:42","slug":"sa-deputy-president-concludes-china-visit-aimed-at-boosting-trade-investment","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sa-deputy-president-concludes-china-visit-aimed-at-boosting-trade-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"SA Deputy President concludes China visit aimed at boosting trade, investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The visit, undertaken at the invitation of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chairman Ren Hongbin, included engagements with government leaders, businesses and investors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mashatile thanked CCPIT for hosting SA at the China International Supply Chain Expo and reaffirmed the country\u2019s commitment to deepening economic ties with China.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During his address at the Expo, Mashatile highlighted the importance of resilient, diversified and sustainable global supply chains, noting their relevance in a changing global economy. \u201cSA is an attractive investment destination supported by sophisticated industrial capabilities, a world-class financial sector and well-established logistics infrastructure,\u201d Mashatile said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mashatile added that his government remains committed to reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business, accelerating infrastructure development and strengthening industrial competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mashatile also conducted a walkabout at the Expo, engaging exhibitors across sectors including digital technologies, advanced manufacturing, green energy, agriculture and smart mobility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mashatile held a bilateral meeting with China\u2019s Vice President Han Zheng, where both countries reaffirmed their strong relationship and discussed cooperation in trade, investment, industrial development and multilateral engagement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Further discussions focused on improving market access, expanding business participation and strengthening collaboration on trade platforms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mashatile met with several Chinese companies, including China Communications Construction Company, Geely Automobile, Chery Automobile, GMM Holding, Beijing GeoEnviron Engineering &amp; Technology and SANY Group.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Talks covered opportunities in infrastructure development, automotive manufacturing, mineral beneficiation, environmental management, renewable energy, healthcare and skills development.
