<\/p>\n
In a statement issued through the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration, the government said it had received reports of the death with deep sadness and pledged to support the necessary processes following the incident.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary information, the deceased was among the passengers travelling on a bus bound for Malawi after completing repatriation procedures. The bus had departed the processing centre when the passenger reportedly died approximately 10 kilometres into the journey.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The driver subsequently returned the vehicle to the processing centre, where the SA Police Service (SAPS) was called to conduct the required investigations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Government said police immediately initiated standard procedures applicable to sudden and unexplained deaths, including a forensic examination of the scene and related investigations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Authorities stressed that all processes were conducted with professionalism and respect for the deceased.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Following the completion of the police and forensic work, SAPS formally released the bus to continue its journey. The remaining passengers resumed their trip shortly after midnight.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The SA government said details surrounding the incident will be communicated to Malawian authorities through the appropriate diplomatic channels.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It also indicated that it stands ready to provide any support required to assist the family of the deceased.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of Government and the people of SA, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, loved ones, fellow travellers and the Government and people of the Republic of Malawi during this difficult time,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
