Tshuma, 45, was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, on Thursday night following an international manhunt. The arrest came more than a week after the bodies of Tshuma\u2019s wife and two children were discovered at a home in Bedfordshire, England.<\/p>\n

British authorities had initially believed Tshuma might have fled to Zimbabwe. However, SA Police Service (SAPS) officers, working alongside Interpol investigators, located and arrested Tshuma in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
SAPS National Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said investigators are now focused on establishing the route Tshuma used to enter South Africa, where Tshuma stayed while evading arrest and whether any assistance was provided after arrival in the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding a firearm found in Tshuma\u2019s possession at the time of the arrest.<\/p>\n

Mathe said law enforcement agencies are tracing Tshuma\u2019s movements after his departure from the UK. \u201cWe are going to track his movement from the UK, from London. Where did he fly to? Did he go via Zimbabwe and then to SA?\u201d said Mathe.<\/p>\n

According to information currently available to investigators, Tshuma arrived in SA on July 5.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Mathe confirmed that Tshuma had been staying with family members before the arrest but declined to provide further details about individuals who may have assisted police during the operation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The arrest was carried out following information received by investigators, leading officers to Tshuma\u2019s location in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

Mathe said the case demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between SA police and international law enforcement agencies. \u201cWe are proving that you cannot hide in SA. If you have committed such heinous crimes against women and children, we are going to find you,\u201d said Mathe.<\/p>\n
