{"id":39670,"date":"2026-07-15T12:08:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=39670"},"modified":"2026-07-15T12:08:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T10:08:19","slug":"sas-financial-regulator-launches-probe-into-state-asset-manager","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/sas-financial-regulator-launches-probe-into-state-asset-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"SA&#8217;s financial regulator launches probe into state asset manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s (SA) Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has launched an investigation into the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), citing \u200bconcerns over governance, leadership stability and transparency at the \u200cstate-owned asset manager.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In a statement late on Tuesday, the regulator said it had become &#8220;increasingly concerned&#8221; by recent developments at the PIC, including issues \u200brelated to governance, leadership stability, transparency and the potential \u200bimpact on confidence in one of Africa&#8217;s largest asset \u2060managers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>On Monday, the PIC&#8217;s board of directors placed Chief Executive \u200bPatrick Dlamini on precautionary suspension after a whistleblower complaint against him.
