{"id":39940,"date":"2026-07-18T15:57:02","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T13:57:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/?post_type=news&#038;p=39940"},"modified":"2026-07-18T15:57:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T13:57:02","slug":"kenya-investigating-cybersecurity-incident-affecting-presidents-website","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.channelafrica.co.za\/channelafrica\/news\/kenya-investigating-cybersecurity-incident-affecting-presidents-website\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenya investigating cybersecurity incident affecting President&#8217;s website"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya&#8217;s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy said this Saturday it was investigating a cybersecurity \u200cincident that affected the official website of the President, adding that there was no evidence so far of unauthorised access to sensitive data or loss of information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry \u2060said the incident was detected by the government&#8217;s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Authority, which immediately activated cybersecurity response protocols and temporarily restricted access to the presidential website to contain the issue and allow forensic investigations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry said appropriate mitigation measures have since been implemented, and restoration of the \u200cwebsite \u2060is underway.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At this time, there is no evidence of unauthorised access to sensitive data, data exfiltration, or loss of information.
