Electricity and Energy Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa say South Africa’s (SA) next Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), will mark a decisive shift from planning to implementation as government seeks to secure long\u00a0term energy security while driving economic growth.<\/div>\n
He was speaking during the SA China Electricity and Energy Investment Conference in Beijing.<\/div>\n

Ramokgopa says\u00a0the updated blueprint is intended not only to determine the country’s future energy mix, but to serve as a catalyst for industrialisation, investment and job creation.<\/div>\n
He argues that with load shedding largely brought under control, the focus must now shift towards building an energy system capable of meeting future electricity demand.<\/div>\n
